The Field Service Technician will be responsible for field service commissioning, repair and maintenance of Daniel products. The Field Service Technician will also handle after sales technical support thru phone and email, preventing down time and financial impact at the customer site. Create and document Knowledge Articles that will be used as a reference by the customer and counterpart for start-up and commissioning, operation and troubleshooting of Daniel products. Resolve basic to intermediate communication issues, hardware issues, installation issues, calibration issues, documentation and general issues. Conduct basic operation and maintenance training of Daniel products. Perform site services with minimal supervision. Provide input into the development and implementation of future diagnostic tools. Provide expertise in data analysis. Develop and document standards with regard to troubleshooting/diagnostic techniques and procedures leveraged for support.The overall objective of this position is to perform responsibilities related to technical support, field service work of existing and new Daniel products to support customer & company objectives & goals while maintaining high quality work.

This role reports to the Director of Global Customer Care and Service.

Education/Experience Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation / Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical / Chemical Engineering or Business

• 5-7 years’ customer/technical support/relations experience with a flow measurement company that sells products in North America.

• 5-7 years’ experience in field service work, industrial instrumentation installation and maintenance.

• Strong commercial/customer facing experience.

• Must be able to travel domestically and internationally.

Skills and Abilities

• Must have analytical and problem-solving skills

• Experience in implementation and maintenance of “lean” processes is preferred.

• Experience in working with oil and gas customers preferred.

• Knowledge of custody flow measurement products/applications a “plus”

• Custody transfer experienced is preferred.

• Ability to interface effectively with field sales management, sales team, Daniel representatives, Daniel’s senior management, engineering, manufacturing, quality control, finance, IT and world area customer care leaders.

• Ability to comprehend and interpret engineering drawings, quality systems requirement and customer specifications.

• Proven track record of establishing and meeting commitments.

• Action-Oriented-Energetic, approaches challenges and projects with perseverance.

• Demonstrated ability to use independent judgment to identify improvement opportunities and organize resources to address them

• Strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to develop these skills in others
