COMPANY BACKGROUND

In 2021, Daniel was purchased by Turnspire Capital Partners and continues to focus of providing world class products to the oil and gas industry.

Scope: The Application Specialist will be responsible for the promoting and quoting Daniel Liquid Turbine Meter and Liquid Control Valve products. The Application Specialist will be the customer’s key point of contact from quotation through shipment. The Application Specialist will have bookings target as defined by Sales Director.

Essential Job Functions
Quote Processing:

  • Receive and process customer requests for quotes.
  • Accurately upload request for quote/proposals in the business systems.
  • Using the established standards, check that all information supplied by the customer is correct and complete to ensure the customer receives the quote/proposal they need and at the time they need it.
  • Review quotes for technical conformance as in valid model options, configuration ranges, documentation options and device compatibility.
  • Accurately perform sizing and enter quote/proposals in the business systems. Send quote, sizing and other related documentation to the internal/external customers, as required.
  • Contact internal customer care personnel and external customers to gather information required to resolve quote issues or to collect missing information at the data entry stage.
  • As required, coordinate with other departments/groups, personnel and technical subject matter experts to have them review and validate the technical requirements of the customer’s request for quotation.
  • Close out the opportunity with guidance from the salesman.
  • Send order acknowledgements to the customer.
  • Maintain updated customer information in business systems and other databases. Collect and save needed documentation to ensure compliance with Daniel’s record retention and documentation procedures.
  • Function as the primary contact and coordinator between the customer and the factories to resolve those issues.
  • Provide weekly order updates to the customer.
  • Proactively notify customers or project managers of any delays that may impact the factories’ ability to meet our shipment commitment and discuss potential solutions.
  • Provide backup order entry support and assistance to the other Application Specialists when required.
  • Drive corrective actions for quote entry errors.
  • Mentor Customer Care Personnel on escalated orders & quotes to satisfy the customer’s needs.

Commercial & Technical Support:

  • Provide support to Sales Facilitators/Order Management when processing an order.
  • Provide support to other Inside Sales and Local Representatives when processing a quote.
  • Provides technical solutions and general application assistance.
  • Works directly with Internal & External Customers, Field/Outside Sales and Field Service to provide presales application support and to generate formal quotations for customers.
  • Establish close business relationship with Daniel Local Representatives, Impact Partners, Outside Sales and Strategic Customers to continue improving customer loyalty.
  • Field general questions about Daniel products and services. Also, be able to clearly convey Daniel’s differentiation message.
  • Practice good phone skills in terms of the ability to open, manage and close a pre-sales & technical sales support calls. Timely, accurate, and proactive with regards to each customer interaction.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert related to Daniel’s business systems, products, applications and industries.
  • Provide backup and support for other ISRs and team members to maintain service levels.
  • Drive Technical and Process related Trainings for team’s improvement and/or new product developments.

Process, Systems & Tools:

  • Maintain proficiency and utilize all of Daniel business systems required to enter and manage orders.
  • Maintain accurate records of all activities related to orders from receipt of the PO to shipment of the products and documentation requested.
  • Provide updates to customer on quotes & orders thru verbal communication and written reports regularly.
  • Understand and implement all aspects of the Daniel’s document retention procedures.
  • Understand and consistently apply Daniel’s commercial policies and business practices related to order entry
  • Ensure compliance with import/export, contract and government requirements. Screen orders for compliance with the Daniel Terms and Conditions, Agreements and standards.

Job Knowledge & Teamwork:

  • Act as back up to internal and external sales personnel/s to maintain good service levels as required by the business
  • Advanced Level of Daniel products, model numbers and price list. Drive customer loyalty using an understanding of customer needs for each buying influence and the main industries served by the business units.
  • Employ the Daniel differentiation strategy, the fundamentals of System Thinking and Continuous Improvement Process (CI)P tools to drive improvements and participate on teams to improve processes in area of expertise.

Education and Experience:

  • Demonstrated quantitative and analytical skills
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, engineering degree preferred
  • 3+ years of customer service and quotation experience
