General Description:

The Strategic Sourcing Specialist is responsible for support and execution of supply chain strategies and initiatives in their global area; including (but not limited to): supplier identification, RFQ development, defining sourcing decisions, and project implementation of assigned commodities.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Define supply strategies for a wide range of assigned commodities which include machined parts, plates, plating, painting, calibration, springs, electrical parts, flanges and fittings, in coordination with the Strategic Purchasing team.
  • Manage and control the commercial relationship with the assigned key suppliers by monitoring their performance in key metrics such as on-time deliveries, quality, and lead times.
  • New supplier identification and development. Including: terms negotiation, evaluation of capacity and quality to ensure compliance with company requirements.
  • Resolve supply issues with world area suppliers (Pricing, Invoices, Delivery, Quality).
  • Coordinate between assigned suppliers and Global Procurement and Operations.
  • Seek and implement projects focused on obtaining benefits in the supply of raw materials such as savings, lead time reduction, regionalization, risk mitigation and contracts.

  • 3+ years of supply chain experience with a global manufacturing company required
  • International purchasing experience with strategic responsibility for procurement/planning of mechanical components preferred
  • Strong presentation skills – must be comfortable and competent at presenting technical information to senior management and defending position

  • Solid personal computer skills with strong capability with Microsoft Office products; Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience with MRP
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally (up to 10%)


  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. Master’s Degree a plus, but not required.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish (Advanced) Preferred
