Reports to the Director of Products

Scope
The Product Manager will be responsible for various product lines in these areas:

Essential Job Functions

    • Track and analyze product costs and variances by product model and recommend opportunities to reduce or contain costs as well as inform senior management of any significant deviations or profitability concerns
    • Provide pricing and profit margin management for new and sustaining product projects from a technical and commercial perspective
    • Determines product pricing using market data, win/loss data and price capture analysis and is responsible for the price book and for setting list price for product specials
    • Conducts market research and communicates customer needs, analysis and results throughout organization
    • Manages the website content for Daniel.com and the Daniel sales portal
    • Responsible for documenting and maintaining customer requirements and use cases for product development requirements and decisions
    • Work with technology leaders and general management to make product and marketing decisions such as pruning product lines, positioning products within various markets, product improvement and development projects to maximize growth and profitability
    • Leads the planning and coordination of sustaining product development and some new product development projects as needed
    • Provide product launch materials, product communications, website updates, press releases and any product campaigns
    • Represent the company at trade shows and provide sales staff with product updates and messaging strategies and guidance
    • Leverage product and marketing knowledge to create marketing collateral content and sales training tools
    • Work with customers, business development and marketing to generate quantitative business results and case studies that can be published and presented at industry conferences
    • Work with sales to create kits and sales promotions as needed
    • Provide content and ensure accuracy and up-to-date product literature (datasheets, brochures)
    • Proactively identifies and signals management on changes in trends, opportunities and other relevant issues
    • Work with marketing to create new product demos and update existing product demo
    • Provide product training for internal and external customers

Qualifications

    • Analytical tool skills e.g., Excel and data visualization, e.g. Power BI
    • Ability to create professional sales tools and presentations as well as deliver sales training
    • Great attention to detail
    • Business acumen
    • Excellent organizational and project management skills
    • Working knowledge of business systems such as ERP and PLM
    • Personal integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality is required

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • 3+ years of experience working with flow meter and/or valve technology or other oil and gas measurement instrumentation, liquid midstream/downstream applications expertise preferred
    • Demonstrated quantitative and analytical skills, MBA preferred
    • Bachelor’s degree required, engineering degree preferred
    • 3+ years of marketing and sales experience
